Dog, cannot stay

I'm sorry, in Bergen there are some places your dog cannot stay or some places that are restricted, below you will find out where.

Hund I Bergen, Forbudt område for hunden din or resricted are

School or kindergarden

Stay and travel at schools, kindergartens and playgrounds Without permission from the responsible person, dogs are not allowed to stay in schools, in kindergartens areas or on playgrounds.

If permission is granted, restraining order still applies, see § 4 d).

Dogs on a leash can travel on footpaths or the like over schoolyards and unfenced playgrounds, see § 4 d).

Schools and kindergartens must feel safe for students and children, and that is why this is the rule in Bergen.

Sports facilities

Your dog is not welcome at some sports facilities. These places are usually marked with signs.

The dog is also not welcome on facilities used for competition/matches at a higher level such as football pitches.

The reason is that children and young people should feel safe, e.g. are some afraid of dogs, which we have to respect.

if you are allowed to stay in the area you must be on a leash and your dog must be kept on a leash.also remember to pick up after your dog, as dog faeces can create unwanted situations.

Shopping malls

There is no place in the legislation that dogs cannot be brought into shops, but shop premises and centers are private areas and therefore the owner has the right to decide.

Most malls allow your dog to visit the pet store in the mall.

Some also allow you to bring your dog into the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for your dog after a visit to the vet.

Most shopping centers also accept, as long as the catering establishments accept it, visitors have the dog in the outdoor dining area.

most shopping centers also have good dog parking areas outside the centre, where the dog is marked.
